This Eclipse, like our Neon,
is another member of our long-term perfo rmance development stable.
Purchased new in 1998 as a turbosystem prototype car, it
has been the test bed for all five stages of Hahn RaceCraft
Turbosystems offered for the Talon and Eclipse.
Unlike the Neon, it still
remains a true street car, and can boast over 20,000 turbocharged
miles since originally built in 1998.
Driven year round in every conceivable weather condition,
it has been an invaluable tool in development of our popular
Talon-Eclipse
Turbosystem.
What makes this car of
particular interest is that it was quire sedate in stock form, as
it is an example of the factory non-turbo base model Eclipse. It has shown that the RS-GS version of the Eclipse is a great
choice
for performance modifications: so far, we have more than
quadrupled its stock HP rating of 140, and shaved over five
seconds off its stock ¼ mile time!
In its current form, it sports
our Stage V Turbosystem. On
the street, it runs 15 PSI boost on 93 octane unleaded. On the track, it will achieve 27 PSI boost on 114 oc tane
racing gasoline. On
the dyno, it has also been treated to a 100 HP shot of nitrous
oxide, and produces 508 HP to the wheels with nitrous!
While the car is certainly a
potent street performer, it has not failed
to impress on the drag strip either!
A real contender in bracket racing and street type car
competition, it carries the distinction of never failing to reach
the final round of every national event it has competed
in.
