Hahn Engine Components for the 420a

We have been evaluating the 420A engine in turbocharged form since early 1998, and have already produced almost 600HP with our Higher HP  systems on this excellent powerplant.  The stock engine will handle up to 275HP without incident.  Our stock engine prototypes have withstood tens of thousands of road miles and high performance use and looked fabulous internally when disassembled for inspection.

But you need not be limited to only 275HP.  When rebuilding the engine or preparing it for over 300HP use, the use of these forged pistons and billet connecting rods is a must.  The stock powdered metal rods in these engines are excellent but will not safely withstand repeated use over 300HP.  The stock pistons are high quality Mahle units, but can be improved upon with forged pistons if high HP is your goal.  The durability these components add is all you need to do to this exceptional engine to prepare it for 400HP use.  Our in-house prototype cars have with an engine completely stock other than these pistons and rods: and we've already run 10.80's with our Eclipse! Yes, the remainder of the engine is completely stock.  No porting, cams, nothing: we didn't even take the manifolds off the cylinder head when we installed these pistons and rods. This makes the DOHC 420A economical for high HP use.  And any competent mechanic and engine rebuilder / machinist can install these heavy duty components with excellent results, without limiting the car's potential for daily street use.

These Crower Billet connecting rods are small pieces of mechanical art.  Finished to the industry's most exacting standards, they can withstand all you can dish out.  Precision machined from billet 4340 chromemoly steel.  Small end bushed for floating piston pin. H11 tool steel rod bolts.   Balanced and sold in sets of four.  Have you ever seen what a stock connecting rod failure can do to an engine?  It ain't pretty, and can truly destroy an entire engine.  Don't take chances with your investment.  If you plan to see 300+ HP on a regular basis, build your engine with these rods.  Or if you are rebuilding, consider the durability edge these rods will provide.  Don't settle for the unpredictable manufacturing tolerances of stock rods.
